Marina Gibson BlogWinter Catch-up: Cancer and Pisces Trust – The Northern Club

29 March 2023

Thank you to everyone who made it on Monday to attend the C&PT out of season get together at Swinton Hotel. It was good to catch up with a dozen and half of our members and companions, and from the messages we’ve received, it appears to have been enjoyed by all. Apologies for the change of venue at the last moment, but we crammed into the Northern Fishing School office. We coped admirably as the picture shows, even if it was a little cosy!

Although the weather was cold, the sun did shine for us. We had a quick look at the new Northern Fishing School premises that is currently being renovated. Marina, co-founder of C&PT and founder of the NFS will be in her element there, good luck to her and the team and we look forward to seeing the finished product in May. We also managed to raise £100 from the tombola which has gone into the C&P funds.

Everyone should by now have received the dates for the guided fishing days, please let us know in good time your preferences for these, so we can try and accommodate as many as possible. If you have not received the dates yet you can find them on our website > Booking Tab.

We have two new afternoon sessions at the Northern Club, one in July and the other in August where we will be welcoming participants from the Teenage Cancer Trust.

As you’ll see on our booking tab we have a new venue launching in May, ‘The C&PT Southern Club’. It will be located at Holbury Lake Fishery, Hampshire and we will be partnering up with Maggie’s Southampton which is only half an hour away from the fishery. Please spread the news and send our details to anyone who you think might benefit from our fishing centres.

***It is absolutely imperative that everyone participating in the fishing days must have a rod licence PLEASE!! You can buy a day, 8 day or yearly licence. Visit: OR click the image at the bottom of this page: ‘Buy a rod fishing licence’.***
